Every time GOD makes a commitment, there are responses man must be tutored to give. These responses determine our participation in what GOD has made available. This is why we need the Spirit—He teaches us the terms of appropriation and the responses required to walk into our inheritance. In 1 Samuel 3:1–11, Samuel needed Eli to teach him how to respond before the conversation could continue. The Spirit teaches us how to respond to GOD.
