I decided to write about the fully funded program I won this summer in America, called the Young Civic Leadership Summit.
Out of 17,000 J-1 students coming to the U.S. only 50 were selected, and Uzbekistan was not represented in the program for the last five years, but I changed that this year.
During the program we went to a local youth center where we met with elementary school kids and played various games with them, those kids were so open to learn and to play ofc.
Then after that program facilitators gave us a task to come up with a project that solves a community problem that we witnessed. The funny part is that we had only 1 day to build the project and present it. It was a crazy experience and we made it to the top 3 teams out of 10, a humble result but I am really proud of it.
All in all, 4 days with different nationalities coming from 27 countries and bonding with them on day 1, was the best part, somehow we knew that if we didn't, we ain't gonna see each other soon. Plus we had free luxury hotel rooms, Uber (Uber itself was worth of 300$), food, and plane tickets, we had nothing to worry about but to learn more and enjoy.
