This year we are joining together to celebrate Dísablót!
At Dísablót, we honor the Dísir, the ancestral mothers who watch over the family and its generations. The focus of the rite is the bjarg and nauðr, the helps and needs, expressed through fertility and infertility.
Fertility is the help, bringing life, growth, prosperity, and the continuation of the family. Infertility is the need, where that life-giving power is absent and divine help is sought. We give thanks to the Dísir for what has been given and seek their aid for what is still needed, that our families and future generations may flourish.
