Not because we want sympathy, and not because we think youth makes us helpless.
The opposite.
The conditions around us forced us to mature faster than we otherwise would have.
Previous generations had the luxury of treating youth as a period of waiting. We do not. We are learning organization, discipline, leadership, culture, and responsibility now because we believe the future will punish anyone who waits too long to become serious.
There is no point mourning the childhood we might have had.
History gave us a different role.
So we will grow into that role before anyone thinks we are ready, and we will prove that responsibility does not wait for age.
