- Season 6 recap

In the 12th century AD, the Mongol invasion began with an attack on Ashgabat. However, this assault was repelled by the countless Muslim defenders, preventing the Mongols from advancing beyond the borders of Iran. After their defeat, the Mongols were attacked from the east by the forces of Japan and Goguryeo, and from the west by the Muslim armies.

Meanwhile, in the Middle East, the Byzantine Empire and the Kingdom of Jerusalem forged a strong alliance to prepare for a Muslim assault on their holy city. These hostilities began with the Byzantine attacks on Bulgaria and Georgia, resulting in their conquest. Following this, the Byzantines and the Kingdom of Jerusalem launched offensives against Ayyubid cities, capturing them and intensifying the conflict.

In response, the vast Muslim armies conducted numerous campaigns to reclaim their lost territories, the most significant of which was the expedition to Jerusalem. At this time, the Byzantines sought to strengthen their borders by spreading propaganda in Rus and orchestrating the assassination of the Rus king, bringing those lands under Byzantine control.

In the following days, the assault on Van began — a fortified city with formidable defenders — but Khwarazmian forces, bolstered by overwhelming numbers, managed to capture it. After that came the most crucial battle: the Battle of Jerusalem. In this clash, the Byzantine commander stood before millions of Muslims in defense of the city, and after several hours of fierce combat, the Christians emerged victorious. Following this defeat, the Ayyubid king abdicated and spent the rest of his life in the surrounding forests.

Once the world began to calm, a massive attack from Japan targeted the Khwarazmian borders, yet the Iranians successfully maintained their defenses. Soon after, the Byzantines — who referred to the Holy Roman Empire as cowardly and weak — launched heavy offensives along the Italian border to restore the Roman Empire and reclaim territories around the Mediterranean. They succeeded in regaining these lands, and once again, the world seemed to return to peace.

But this was not the end of the story…
