✍️The operatives create fake female identities on social media, study potential targets’ posts and behaviour, identify personal vulnerabilities, and build trust over months. Once confidence is established, targets may be persuaded to install apps containing spyware or malware.
✍️The strategy is shifting from money and intimidation to psychological manipulation, emotional vulnerability and intimacy.
✍️The growing use of such tactics has raised serious concerns, especially as some officials continue to ignore cybersecurity advisories and unknowingly expose sensitive information through digital channels.
