🇯🇵🇺🇸🇦🇺 Japan-US-Australia Drill Draws Warning Over Regional Stability
The Japan-US-Australia military exercise “Oriental Shield 26” is set to take place from September 8–24, involving around 3,700 personnel.
According to China’s Global Times, the exercise will include live-fire drills, airborne operations and long-range coordination. The US Typhon mid-range missile system is also reportedly set to participate for the first time.
Chinese analysts cited by the outlet argue that the expanding trilateral military cooperation could deepen bloc confrontation and increase security risks in the Asia-Pacific.
The exercise is officially presented as improving military interoperability, while Beijing views it as part of a broader buildup of regional military capabilities.
