Florida is rolling out a new “History of Communism” curriculum for students in grades 6 through 12 starting this school year.
The standards cover socialist and communist regimes from the Soviet Union to China, Cuba, and beyond.
Gov. Ron DeSantis has long pushed the initiative to educate students on the dangers of communism and counter what he calls communist apologists.
