15,000 Rally Against Takaichi’s Push To Remilitarize Japan
Protesters gathered outside the parliament in Tokyo, chanting “Takaichi Out” and and waving signs reading “Stop playing war”.
The demonstrations come as Takaichi's government pushes to expand Japan's military role - while a separate debate over the country's long-held non-nuclear principles is also gaining momentum.
