My Fellow Americans,
We stand today at a crossroads. Not of roads, rivers or rails, but of principles and of the path to our common destiny. Again our great Nation, born of liberty and holding to the proposition that all men are created equal, calls its children to renew and defend the promises of its founding.
We are the descendants of a bold tradition; a tradition that challenged ordinary men and women to reach for extraordinary ideals. Whether the frostbitten soldiers at Valley Forge, or the determined marchers from Selma to Montgomery, the spirit of American resolve and resilience has overcome tyranny and oppression. This same spirit must guide us as we face new challenges that fracture our unity and weaken our collective strength.
Let us seize this moment with all the heart of our heritage. Let us harness the unquenchable American spirit to inspire innovation, to advance social justice, to defend the rights for which our ancestors gave their lives. Let us spurn the siren songs of division and the easy havens of cynicism. Let us build bridges instead of walls where walls would otherwise be. Let us celebrate and lift up our common values of freedom, democracy and the relentless pursuit of opportunity for all.
This is not a call to action out of fear, but out of a deep love for who we have been, who we are, and who we can still be. We are not done. Our journey is far from complete. The tools of our forefathers and foremothers — the vote, the voice, the unyielding belief in the decency of fellow Americans — remain ours to use. And we must use them, with courage and with conviction.
Let every citizen of every part of this great land—from the crowded streets of New York to the peaceful plains of Kansas, from the snow-capped ranges of Alaska to the sun-drenched beaches of Florida—join together in this great effort. Let us prove to the world that America’s best days are not behind us, but ahead of us — built on the fires of unity and the hard, hopeful work of democracy.
We are unstoppable together. Together, we are the torchbearers of the light of freedom, lighting the way forward, not just for us, but for generations to come. Join me, fellow Americans, in safeguarding our common destiny. Let us boldly walk into the dawn of this new revolution, our hearts burning with the eternal fires of liberty and justice for all.
