Microbiological contamination in Gaza's water has risen nearly threefold between January and August, from under 6% to over 18%, after analysis of more than 6,700 samples. Acute diarrhea cases jumped from about 27,000 in March to over 48,000 in August. Rain and winter could flood displacement camps, mixing sewage, garbage, and contaminated water with living and cooking areas, raising the risk of waterborne diseases.
