Episode 3: Rights Are Antecedent to Government
If government did not create your rights, then government cannot be their owner.
In Episode 3 of Continuity of Treason, we examine the structure of rights from the ground up. We ask where rights come from, what makes a true right different from a benefit or permission, and where the boundary between liberty and injury actually lies.
The central question is simple:
Does government protect rights that already exist, or does government create the rights it later claims authority to regulate?
If rights are antecedent to government, then government is not the source of liberty. It is an agent created to secure it.
