
The U.S. House Financial Services Committee will review tokenization, focusing on requiring the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) to jointly study tokenized securities and derivatives, and allowing certain regulated entities to use blockchain-based records under future SEC rules. In January, the SEC stated that tokenized stocks and bonds would remain subject to existing securities laws. Earlier this month, the SEC expanded its crypto regulatory framework, explicitly including tokenized securities within its jurisdiction. Last week, the SEC and CFTC reached a coordination agreement to advance regulatory synergy.😱😱😱
