Three Skoltech student projects are in the best Russia accelerators!
Teams NaviGuide and UV Smart Patch made it into the TOP-100 of the main Moscow accelerator Academy of Innovators 8th season. And the TubeScanAI went into the INDUSTRIX accelerator.
UV Smart Patch is a project developed by Skoltech PhD students: Daria Terentyeva (physics), Elizaveta Cherkasskaya (life science) and Alexey Sokolov (materials science). They are developing a wearable UV‑sticker that tracks sun exposure and helps prevent sunburn. They implement a new smart material based on the inorganic photochemical transition that gradually changes color as UV dose accumulates. Team has already won the UMNIK grant from FASIE for the development of their MVP.
NaviGuide is a project born during the Innovation Workshop 2025 and developed with collaboration with Intelligent Space Robotics Lab (headed by Dzmitry Tsetserukou) by Skoltech MSc students: Timofei Kozlov, Artem Trandofilov and Georgii Gazaryan (all from engineering systems program). They are making a device for the visually impaired people that detects overhanging obstacles. It operates autonomously and uses haptic feedback. The project was also a winner of the Triple Point Social Tech 2025.
TubeScanAI is a project also started during the Innovation Workshop 2025 and developed by Mariya Lezina, a first-year MSc student at Skoltech in AI and Robotics. It's an intelligent system for inspecting oil pipes using a specialized magnetic flux leakage (MFL) defectoscope mounted on the pipe head during extraction from the wellbore. It delivers real-time diagnostic reports on defects like corrosion and cracks, followed by neural network analysis for precise classification and depth assessment. The project became a finalist in the «Энерготехнохаб Петербург» incubator and is currently participating in the Industrix accelerator.
