Greek shipowner Carlova Maritime, led by Anthony Inglessis, is further expanding its newbuilding program with a fresh investment in the dry bulk sector.
According to market sources, Carlova Maritime has signed a contract with Hengli Heavy Industry for the construction of one 82,000-dwt Kamsarmax bulk carrier, scheduled for delivery in 2027.
The latest order further strengthens the shipowner's relationship with Hengli Heavy Industry. The two parties have also contracted one 114,000-dwt Aframax tanker, which is scheduled for delivery in 2028.
Carlova Maritime is also expanding its tanker portfolio through orders placed with Hanwha Ocean for two 300,000-dwt VLCCs. The vessels are scheduled for delivery in 2028 and 2029, respectively.
According to the company's website, Carlova Maritime currently manages a fleet of 13 vessels, comprising nine tankers and four dry bulk carriers. All of its existing vessels were built at Japanese shipyards, reflecting the Inglessis family's long-standing preference for Japanese-built tonnage.
