Most of you are concerned about the lag after using the IR Face Unlock patch or PIF patch on ColorOS 16.
Just to clarify, this is not a ROM specific issue. When we modify system APK/JAR files, their existing ODEX/ART compiled files may no longer match the modified files, so Android has to optimize them again.
Because of this, you may feel some small UI stutters or slight lag, but it shouldn't be anything major.
It's a normal side effect of modifying system components, not a problem with the ROM itself.
The PIF patch is heavier, so some lag can appear when using it. The IR Face Unlock patch itself shouldn't cause noticeable lag.
In the review video you watched, both the PIF and IR Face Unlock patches were applied, which is why you may notice a little bit of lag in the video.
