America’s first answer is now a pill.
Megyn Kelly’s point is the reflex, not a ban on medicine. You get an itch, they have a tablet. ADHD drugs can help in a tight case. She says they still go out like candy, and some mothers are taking the child’s Ritalin or Adderall as their own. She flags talk of GLP-1 weight shots in very young kids as the same habit with a new label: if there is an injection, skip the slower work.
She leaves psychiatry in the toolbox. She says the pad got lazy. SSRIs stay on the list. She also says they are overused, that they can worsen some people, and that after a massacre the official story stops at “mental illness” and never asks what the drug was doing. She is careful on the mechanism. She does not claim the pill pulled the trigger. She claims we refuse to look at the mix.
The Clancy case is her legal example. Some people want the prescriptions in the frame before they call it simple murder. Criminal law, she says, does not work that way. A driver to the bank still goes down.
A medicine can be real and still be a substitute for patience, sleep, food, and a doctor willing to say no.
