Sequel to the story: after the US gov sanctions and executive order:
- PayPal suspended their account, freezing half of the donations
- Banca Etica, the only Italian bank supposedly on the side of grassroot organizations, decided to temporarily block their bank account, freezing the other half of the donation and any possibility of using or retrieving their money out of nowhere (they had no legal obligation to do so)
- A/I's blog platform, noblogs.org, where I actually keep my blog, was hacked
- None of the Italian institutions did anything, and the story didn't even gain any traction on national press
- Banca Etica decided to permanently close A/I's bank account and seize (=steal) all of their funds
As a consequence of all these events, the collective A/I has decided to close and cease all of their services in the near future. In an attack without precedents, an independent antifascist web host service was bullied off the internet by an entity that had no jurisdiction on it. No corner of the internet is safe.
There is no amount of words that can express my anger for this. In an age of several genocides going on at once at the hands of imperialist powers, where cities are sold to BnB's, tourists and landlords, where our spaces get destroyed and replaced by luxury apartments, shops and billboards, where our collectives get evicted and the streets are locked down by the military and police, where big social networks ban leftists, feminists and anticolonialists and let in fascists, maga, zionists, queerphobes and sexist abusers, where we get harassed more and more and where our eyes and ears are bombarded by computer-generated slop we never asked for, in this depressing age the only things that let me breathe are the small corners at the periphery where we can organize ourselves without being watched and repressed, but eviction after evictions they are fewer and fewer spaces to exist like this, and in the virtual world of the Internet Autistici/Inventati was probably the only space that made me feel that way.
No one is safe until all governments burn, until all states burn, until all banks and big tech companies and data centers and ecommerce warehouses burn. Until all the billionaires, bigots, fascists, queerphobes, racists, zionists and sexists fear our flames and guillotines. Until all the presidents and monarchs and chairmen and ceos run in fright of being turned into fiery colanders.
Until then, stay human
