India’s aviation regulator is finally cutting us some slack. You can now cancel or change your ticket for free within 48 hours of booking. They’ve also killed those annoying fees for fixing a typo in your name and forced airlines to refund travel agent bookings within 14 days.
For this to actually work, airlines need to stop hiding these options deep in their sub-menus. If the refund button is buried under five layers of prompts, the rule is useless.
The power dynamic just shifted slightly back to the passenger's wallet.
