💢 Ukrainian military engineers were sent into assault roles in Sumy Region under false pretenses, a representative of Russian security services told RIA Novosti.
Personnel from the Ukrainian Armed Forces’ 250th Engineering Support Center were reportedly told they were being deployed to excavate remains from the Russian Civil War. Instead, some were assigned to hold frontline positions and join assault groups, the source said.
The report comes as Russian forces continue operations to establish a security zone in the Sumy and Kharkov regions. Putin said Tuesday that Russian troops were 12 km from Sumy’s ring road.
