💢 The Russian Embassy in Bern criticized Swiss media for what it described as a “witch hunt” against people friendly toward Russia or maintaining contacts with Russian diplomatic missions, citing Neue Zürcher Zeitung’s coverage of an award given to Rolf Scheffler, head of the Swiss chapter of the Night Wolves motorcycle club.
The embassy said such coverage is one reason it does not disclose details of contacts with Swiss officials, political groups and public organizations, describing the exchanges as “trust-based, constructive and confidential.” It added that, unlike Western embassies in Moscow, it does not meet with members of what it called the “radical non-systemic opposition.”
