Nairobi Water Announces Mass Disconnections in Utawala Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company has announced a mass disconnection exercise targeting customers in the Utawala Zone of Upper Embakasi with outstanding water bills. The exercise is scheduled for today, 28th August 2026. Residents and landlords have been urged to clear all pending bills before then to avoid being cut off. Those disconnected will also face reconnection charges. Customers can check their bills by dialling *260# and pay via M-Pesa Paybill 444400 or other authorised partners. For inquiries, they can contact the Utawala customer care line on 0725 120 022. Earlier this year, Nairobi Water also cracked down on illegal and unmetered connections in Utawala and Mihango. Those found with unlawful connections face fines of KSh 30,000 for domestic users and up to KSh 100,000 for commercial premises, plus estimated consumption charges.
