Chinaโs central bank added 650,000 ounces (around 20 tonnes) of gold to its reserves in August, marking its biggest monthly purchase since October 2023.
The move extended Chinaโs gold-buying streak to 22 consecutive months, taking its total holdings to about 76.73 million ounces.
The continued accumulation comes as central banks increasingly diversify their reserves with gold.
