Nearly one in four PM Jan Dhan accounts is classified as inoperative, while 5.72 crore accounts have zero balance, an RTI response has revealed.

As of August 12, 2026, over 59 crore accounts held ₹3.15 lakh crore in deposits. The data was provided by the Finance Ministry.
