To guard against potential future threats from "quantum computing," nine cryptocurrency and financial giants, including BlackRock, Coinbase, and Strategy, jointly announced on Thursday the formation of the "Bitcoin Security Consortium," pledging a total of $15 million over three years to support Bitcoin security research and open-source development.
