According to sources, visa curbs on Indians from various sectors, including automotive and electronics over the last two years, along with restrictions on materials such as rare earth permanent magnets (REPM), have led to a disruption in manufacturing, prompting calls for quick resolutions to safeguard the supply chain.
“The Indian industry is at present scaling up capacity under Atmanirbhar Bharat in electric mobility, cell manufacturing, electronics and capital goods. In each of these areas, timely access to specialised equipment, technical personnel and certain critical inputs has become a key determinant of project schedules and unit costs.
