InterLink Labs Buyback Program: The Purpose Behind It
It is important to understand that the InterLink Labs Buyback Program is not designed to determine, prove, or influence the price of ITL. Whether ITL is purchased at a higher or lower price through this program does not represent what ITL should be worth, nor should it be interpreted as price discovery.
The real purpose of this program is to use InterLink Labs’ own budget to acquire ITL as part of our appreciation for the 10 million Linkers who have trusted, supported, and grown with the ecosystem. Under the current mechanism, the majority of the buyback fund will be used to purchase eligible ITL offers from lower to higher asking prices, allowing us to acquire as much ITL as possible with the available budget. At the same time, approximately 20% of the fund will be allocated to randomly selected eligible offers at higher price levels. Therefore, the highest or lowest accepted price should not be considered a reflection of ITL’s value.
This initiative is something InterLink Labs and ITL holders are building together for the community. Some holders may voluntarily offer their ITL at lower prices, effectively contributing part of its potential value so that InterLink Labs can acquire more ITL for the 10M Linkers initiative. We see this as a form of contribution to the community, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who chooses to participate in this way.
Transparency is another important principle behind this program. By making the buyback process transparent, InterLink Labs wants the community to clearly see how our budget is being used and how ITL is acquired and distributed. Unlike structures where a foundation or core team holds a large pre-allocated token reserve that can simply be used for incentives, the InterLink Labs core team does not hold an allocation of ITL that can be freely used to influence, control, or abuse ecosystem rewards. If we need ITL for community initiatives, we must acquire it using our own resources.
Ultimately, this program is not about showing how high or low ITL can be bought. It is about InterLink Labs and ITL holders working together to give something meaningful back to the first 10 million Linkers who helped build this journey.
