THE MAJESTY OF GOD Psalm 8: Part 1 “O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!” Psalm 8:1 Psalm 8 begins and ends with the same declaration: “O LORD our Lord, how excellent is thy name in all the earth!” Before David talks about man, he talks about God. That is important. True biblical teaching about humanity must begin with the Creator—not the creature. David looks at the greatness of God and realizes that God's glory is not confined to heaven. His name is excellent “in all the earth.” - The heavens declare His greatness. - The earth displays His wisdom. - Human beings demonstrate His creative purpose. Yet the remarkable thing is that the majestic God takes notice of mankind. Key lesson The value of humanity is best understood in the light of the greatness of God. We should never make humanity so important that we forget God, nor make humanity so insignificant that we forget that God created us in His image. Genesis 1:27 Reflection When you look at creation, do you see merely nature—or do you see the glory of its Creator? Prayer Lord, open my eyes to see Your glory in all that You have created. May my life bring honour to Your excellent name. Amen. #InGodsImageBlogs #Psalm8 #CreatedInHisImage #ImageOfGod #BibleStudy
