The shortage is so bad some pilots now rely exclusively on the plane's internal guns during daytime sorties, when it's easier to spot an enemy projectile, and the Ukrainian Air Force now tracks missile deliveries to the minute, expecting them to arrive before the next large-scale attack.
Ukrainian F-16s have been primarily armed with AIM-120 Advanced Medium-Range Air-to-Air Missile (AMRAAM) and the shorter-range AIM-9 'Sidewinder', both in critically low supply.
