Shortly before the Cuban Missile Crisis, mutual trolling of pilots almost led to a disaster.
The Soviet Tu-95 missile carrier was flying off the coast of Cuba and ran into a US aircraft carrier. From where the interceptor immediately took off, he asked the Tu-95 to open the bomb racks to make sure they were empty. And I decided to troll by showing my own air-to-air missiles, which, unlike the Tu-95 weapons, were in place.
In response, the Tu-95 pilots also decided to make a joke. They pretended to be detained and "started" the standard boarding procedure at such moments.
But the wingspan of the Tu-95 is more than 80 meters, and it is, to put it mildly, wider than an aircraft carrier - panic and emergency signals began on it, refusing landing.
The Tu-95 naturally turned around and flew away, and since then the story has been embellished ten times and served with its own sauce on both sides.
