THE TWO-MINUTE SILENCE TEST
Most people do not notice how loud their day is.
Not because the sound is dramatic.
Because it is constant.
Air conditioning.
Traffic.
Podcasts.
Typing.
Notifications.
Other people’s voices living inside your headphones.
⟁
Silence is not empty. It is diagnostic.
When external sound drops away, you may notice your breath, your pulse, the room, or the mental soundtrack that never stopped playing.
That is useful information.
Not everything you notice needs fixing. But attention changes when you finally give it a quiet surface to land on.

FIELD TEST
Set a timer for two minutes. Sit without music, scrolling, talking, or multitasking. Notice five sounds that were already present before you began.
Then notice what happens to your shoulders.
The purpose is not to become perfectly calm.
It is to remember that your environment is part of your internal state.
