💼 Sony, Warner Take Legal Action Against Anthropic
Sony Music Publishing and Warner Chappell Music have filed a multibillion-dollar lawsuit against Anthropic, alleging massive copyright violations tied to the training of its Claude AI models. The music giants are seeking up to $150,000 in damages for each unlicensed musical work used without permission.
The lawsuit, submitted in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, names not only Anthropic but also CEO Dario Amodei and co-founder Benjamin Mann as defendants.
