1. Richter’s hernia
Only part of bowel wall is trapped/strangulated.
lumen not completely obstructed
So patient may have strangulation without intestinal obstruction.

“W-shaped hernia”
Two bowel loops are inside sac, but the middle loop inside abdomen becomes strangulated.
