Stone Mountain is one of the Appalachian Mountains and one of the largest monoliths in North America. It is located in the USA, in the state of Georgia. The summit is at an elevation of 512 meters above sea level, or approximately 250 meters above the surrounding plain. The mountain is more than 8 km in circumference. The most famous attraction of this mountain is the world's largest carved bas-relief, the "Confederate Memorial," all work on which was completed by March 3, 1972.
