📈 Bitcoin-Gold Correlation Reaches Six-Year High
The 90-day correlation between Bitcoin and gold has surged to its highest level in six years—matching 2020’s peak—while its link with traditional stocks has weakened. According to Bitwise CIO Matt Hougan, this shift reflects growing investor response to macroeconomic developments in August.
Following the U.S. Treasury's bond-buying activity, Bitcoin surged 22.4%, gold rose 5%, and equities declined. Amid rising concerns over currency devaluation, both assets are being used as hedges—with Bitcoin increasingly seen as a more volatile, high-conviction counterpart to gold.
