💸 Sony, Warner Target Anthropic in Copyright Lawsuit
Sony Music Publishing and Warner Chappell Music have filed a multibillion-dollar lawsuit against Anthropic, alleging massive copyright infringement tied to the training of its Claude AI models. The music giants are seeking up to $150,000 in damages for each unauthorized use of a musical work.
The lawsuit, submitted in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, names not only Anthropic but also CEO Dario Amodei and co-founder Benjamin Mann as defendants.
