Unlike conventional UAV launch methods, electromagnetic catapults allow for higher sortie rates and heavier payloads without the need for aviation infrastructure.
This concept aligns with earlier indications that China is exploring "arsenal ship" and auxiliary combatant roles for civilian hulls.
