🇧🇪 Far-left anti-Israel radicals carried out an arson attack on a Belgian defense firm

The fire heavily damaged the offices of Belgian Advanced Technology Systems (BATS). No one was injured.

An anonymous claim and an email signed “Black Fire” said the company was targeted for its defense work and ties to Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI), framed as a fight against the military industry and imperialism.

Defense Minister Theo Francken blamed far-left activists, warned of rising political radicalization, and linked the fire to an earlier attempted attack on OIP, another Belgian defense firm.
