▪️ Historically, the United States has been a supporter of low or no tariffs and the removal of trade barriers.
▪️ Since 2022, the United States had imposed an average tariff of 1.5% on its imports.
▪️ In 2019, approximately halfway through the U.S.-China trade war, the average tariff rate increased to 7%.
📌 The highest import tariffs are applied in:
🔹 Solomon Islands – 20.7%
🔹 India – 11.5%
🔹 African countries – 18%
