Born in 1215, Louis IX became King of France at 15 years of age. Educated as a Christian king by his saintly mother, St. Louis undertook two Crusades to the Holy Land. He died at Tunis in 1270.

O God, Who didst translate Blessed Louis, Thy Confessor, from an earthly throne to the glory of Thy heavenly kingdom, grant, we beseech Thee, through his merits and intercession, that we may have companionship with the King of kings, Jesus Christ, Thy Son.
Who with Thee liveth and reigneth in the unity of the Holy Ghost, God, world without end. Amen.
