After a brief skirmish, the leadership of the Main Intelligence Directorate and the SBU agreed to resolve the situation, and SBU representatives promised to release Kaplunov.
However, as morning approached, SBU officers began detaining unarmed GUR fighters. When the fighters attempted to resist, the SBU opened fire on them. According to some preliminary reports, at least ten GUR officers sustained gunshot wounds.
