Bosna☪ HISTORIC DAY FOR BOSNIAKS IN SERBIA: TWO ISLAMIC COMMUNITIES SIGN UNITY AGREEMENT
Representatives of the two Islamic communities operating in Serbia today signed a foundational agreement in Novi Pazar on their unification, officially launching the process of merging the two structures.
The development has already been described as historic, as it marks the beginning of the reunification of the Meshihat of the Islamic Community in Serbia, which operates within the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Islamic Community of Serbia, a parallel structure established nearly two decades ago with the support of political circles in Belgrade at the time.

The Charter of Unity was signed during a ceremony accompanied by the recitation of takbirs. Among those signing the document was Sandžak Mufti Mevlud ef. Dudić.

The ceremony was also attended by a group of prominent Sandžak businessmen and public figures known as muslihun. They will serve as arbitrators and guarantors of the unity achieved through the process.
What does the Charter provide?

One Islamic Community for all Muslims: All Muslims in Sandžak and Serbia, regardless of nationality, will be part of a single Islamic Community.

Ties with Sarajevo: The headquarters will remain in Novi Pazar, while the Charter confirms the community's cultural and national ties with Sarajevo. The Reis-ul-Ulama of the Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina is recognized as the supreme religious authority.

• Leadership: The unified Islamic Community in Serbia will be headed by the Sandžak Mufti, who will also serve as president of the Meshihat of the Islamic Community in Serbia.

• Abolition of parallel structures: Imams who have operated outside the Meshihat system, within the Belgrade-based structure, will join the unified Islamic Community. This would formally end the existence of the parallel Islamic Community of Serbia
