These aren’t just typos—they mean very different things. Let’s break it down. 👇 Bitcoin vs. bitcoin There’s a simple but important distinction: 🔹 Bitcoin (capital “B”) → The network, the decentralized system that enables global transactions without banks or intermediaries. 🔹 bitcoin (lowercase “b”) → The currency, the actual digital money used on the Bitcoin network. Think of it like this: 🚛 Bitcoin is the highway (the infrastructure that moves value). 📦 bitcoin is the cargo (the money being moved). Example sentences: ✔️ “I sent 0.001 bitcoin to my friend.” (The asset) ✔️ “Bitcoin enables peer-to-peer transactions worldwide.” (The network) What are satoshis (sats)? Bitcoin is divisible into tiny fractions—that’s where satoshis (sats) come in. 🔹 1 bitcoin = 100,000,000 satoshis (sats) 🔹 Just like 1 dollar = 100 cents, 1 bitcoin = 100 million sats Example conversions: ✔️ 1 satoshi = 0.00000001 BTC (smallest unit) ✔️ 10,000 sats = 0.0001 BTC ✔️ 1 BTC = 100,000,000 sats Why does this matter? Many people think bitcoin is too expensive because they see the price of 1 whole BTC. But you don’t need to buy a full bitcoin—you can stack sats instead!
