You've probably not heard about the new Packaging Regulation (EPR/PPWR), which takes effect on August 12, 2026.
TLDR: EU is mandating every business to have a representative in EVERY EU country they ship to which comes at a whooping price of 200-300€ PER COUNTRY (plus ofc each country's packaging registration which is costly), which in the end means most of smaller artist and companies will probably stop offering shipment to you and your country!
The long story is - How will this affect us, as a thriving, artist centered community? And yes this includes you!
For no small business it will be viable to register themselves in all memberstates of the EU. Next to it being very pricey, there is also a lot of bureaucracy involved for which we simply do not have the time. Fact is - to make sure we dont make mistakes a lot of artists, but also small wineries, honey makers, but also middle sized suppliers you might have been using will most likely stop shipping to most, if not all, countries inside of the EU - except for the country they are based.
There's a petition against this and hopefully we can achieve something together as a community of small makers and those of you who support us and like what we do
