❗️Over the last 7 months in Russia, more than a thousand foreign nationals who had obtained Russian passports were forcibly deprived of their citizenship.
These decisions were made as part of a systematic effort to combat violations of Russian migration laws, according to Irina Volk, the official representative of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
During the same period, the number of applications for Russian citizenship that were rejected increased by 10% compared to the same period in 2025. More than 65% of the rejections were due to the discovery of forged, false, or invalid documents submitted by foreign nationals, or the provision of inaccurate information.
Among the reasons for the deprivation of citizenship are court convictions for crimes listed in Article 24 of the Federal Law "On Citizenship of the Russian Federation" (72%), failure to fulfill the obligation to register for military service (11%), and actions that pose a threat to the national security of the country (10%).
