The Mahabodhi temple complex is one of the four holy places associated with the life of Buddha. The first temple was built by Emperor Asoka in the 3rd century BC, while the current one dates from the 5th or 6th century. It is one of the earliest surviving all-brick Buddhist temples in ๐ฎ๐ณ India, dating from the late Gupta period.
